The Scottsdale Community College Softball team did what they needed to do last night and came away with a conference sweep of Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

The Fighting Artichokes are still in the hunt for the final playoff spot for the Region 1 Division II tournament. The Artichokes started off on the wrong foot and gave up an early 3-0 lead in the first game of the night. Scottsdale and Chandler-Gilbert went back and forth all game long, but the SCC bats came through in the end and finished off the Coyotes by the final score of 9-7. In game 2 of the night, the Artichoke bats stayed hot and SCC put CGCC away easily by a final score of 9-2. The Scottsdale Community College Softball team will be in action for their final doubleheader of the season this Saturday as they go on the road to face the top-seeded Phoenix College Bears at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
