The Scottsdale volleyball team opened their home campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over South Mountain tonight at SCC.

Tonight was a non-conference match and improved the Artichokes to 2-1 on the season.

The first set was 3-3 before the Artichokes rattled off 22 of the next 30 points to take the opening set 25-11. SCC closed the second set on a 15-6 run to win 25-14. They would complete the sweep with a 25-15 third set victory.

Also, this week Scottsdale's Anissa El-Ali was named the ACCAC Division II Offensive Player of the Week for week one. El-Ali recorded 38 kills over the opening two matches.

Next up for the Artichokes is their conference home opener against Glendale on Friday, September 5 at 7 p.m. SCC was pipped by the Gauchos for the conference title on the last night of the regular season last year.
