The Scottsdale volleyball team swept Pima tonight 3-0 in Tucson. It was the second time this year the Artichokes have swept the Aztecs.

With the win, SCC is now 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the league.

The opening set lasted nearly 40 minutes and saw the Artichokes earn seven set points, eventually converting one for a 34-32 win. SCC controlled the second set to take it 25-19. The Artichokes closed the third and final set on a 14-4 run to win 25-16.

Anissa El-Ali and Tanner Robinson each had 12 kills. El-Ali hit .233 for the match, while Robinson finished with a .203. 

Scottsdale has a quick turnaround as they will face Cleveland Community College (NC) tomorrow, September 20 at 12 p.m. at Mesa Community College. The match will be hosted by MCC and admission will be taken at the door.

Also, SCC swept ACCAC Player of the Week honors for Week 3. El-Ali once again earned the offensive player of the week award. She had 33 kills over two matches. Ella Petcu earned defensive honors, accumulating 65 digs over the two matches. She also had eight assists.
