Women's Soccer Downs Phoenix; Pair to Meet in Region Semis Thursday
The Scottsdale women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a thrilling 2-1 win tonight over Phoenix at SCC.
SCC is now 12-2-1 overall and 11-2-1 in the ACCAC.
Sydney Delaney scored in the 1st minute to give the Artichokes a 1-0 lead. Phoenix evened it at 1-1 with a goal 10 minutes later. Ava Fike scored her 18th goal of the season to give Scottsdale the lead back with a goal in the 61st minute.
Kaydence Manning started in goal and made four saves.
The Artichokes had eight shots on goal compared to six for the Bears.
Scottsdale will be the No. 3 seed in the NJCAA Region 1 Playoffs. They will face No. 2 Phoenix again in the semifinal round this Thursday, October 30. Gametime will be announced tomorrow.
