Vanessa Sepulveda scored a season-high 27 points to lead #23 Scottsdale to a 72-63 win over #6 Mesa tonight at SCC.

Scottsdale improved to 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference. The two teams have split their first two games with a third and final regular season contest scheduled for February 14 at Mesa.

Sepulveda scored 10 of the SCC's 14 first quarter points which ended 14-14. The lead would flip back and forth in the second with Mesa entering the break up 33-31. Mesa opened up a four-point lead in the third, but the Artichokes closed the quarter on a 12-5 run to lead 48-45. SCC would never trail in the fourth and led by as many 11 to close out the win.

Landin Kelley added 18 points.

Scottsdale will remain at home where they will host Phoenix on Saturday, January 24. That game will begin at 2 p.m. The Bears beat the Artichokes 58-49 in the first meeting at PC on December 10.
