Scottsdale runs past Bears for big win
The Scottsdale men's basketball team put together a complete performance tonight, pulling away early and cruising to an 89–69 win over Phoenix College.
SCC improved to 11-9 overall and 5-4 in the league.
The Artichokes set the tone from the opening tip, scoring 45 first-half points and never looking back. SCC controlled the paint, outscoring Phoenix 44–32 inside while winning the rebounding battle 48-30.
Scottsdale was led by McCade Peterson with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Coleman Fields added 17 points, knocking down five three-pointers. Quincy Kirk chipped in 16 points, and Conway Cummard contributed 10 points, five assists, and six rebounds.
Up next is a critical conference matchup at Chandler-Gilbert on Wednesday, January 28. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. SCC defeated CGCC in the first meeting between the two in December.
