The Scottsdale men's basketball team held off Chandler-Gilbert to win 84-80 today at SCC. The win clinched a Region 1 playoff spot for the Artichokes.

SCC is now 15-12 overall and 9-7 in the ACCAC with two games left to play in the regular season.

Scottsdale was able to take a 42-36 lead into the break. The two sides exchanged leads over the first nine minutes of the second half. SCC would take a 58-57 lead with 11 minutes to go and never trail again.

The Artichokes had balanced scoring in the game. Bryce Anderson led the team with 16. McCade Peterson, Coleman Fields and Tim Gorham had 14 each. Quincy Kirk added 13.

Scottsdale and Glendale (8-8 in the ACCAC) are battling for the third seed in the upcoming playoffs. Pima is locked in as the top seed and South Mountain will be the second seed.

The Artichokes will visit South Mountain on Wednesday, February 25. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
