South tips men's hoops in the final second
The Scottsdale men's basketball team fell 75-73 at South Mountain.
Scottsdale is now 15-13 overall and 9-8 in the conference.
South opened a 14-point first half lead before the Artichokes closed it to 35-33 at the break. Tylan Holleman hit two free throws to tie the game at 73 with seven seconds remaining. South would win it with a tip in with one second left.
McCade Peterson had 20 points and eight rebounds to pace the Artichokes. Quincy Kirk added 18 points and nine boards. Holleman had 14, 12 coming from the free throw line.
Scottsdale will wrap up the regular season at home on February 28 vs. Glendale. Tipoff will be 4 p.m. The winner of that contest will be the No. 3 seed in the Region tournament and travel to South Mountain on Thursday, March 5. The loser will be the No. 4 seed and travel to face Pima on the same day.
