Artichokes sweep Coyotes
The Scottsdale softball team swept Chandler-Gilbert at SCC.
Scottsdale improved to 9-10 overall and 7-7 in the conference.

The Artichokes pushed a run across in the extra innings to pick up the win. The Coyotes broke open the scoreless game with a run in the fifth. SCC answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 2-1 lead. It was short lived as the Coyoted evened it at 2-2 in the sixth.
Scottsdale had six hits in the game and were led by Jacee Larson's two hits.
Kailyn Montoya (6-4) pitched all 8.0 innings. She scattered 10 hits and fanned 10.
Game 2: Scottsdale 10 Chandler-Gilbert 6
The bats were alive early in the contest. Scottsdale led 2-1 after one inning before the Coyotes plated five in the second to go up 6-2. SCC responded with three in the second and four more in the third to put the game out of reach.
SCC had 12 hits in the game with Alma Teilon going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Tati Solano also went 3-for-3 and had an RBI.
Tyler Gordanier (2-5) picked up the win in relief. She tossed 5.2 scoreless innings and allowed only four hits.
Scottsdale will next head to Phoenix for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 3. First pitch is 12 p.m. PC swept SCC in their first meeting this season.
