Region playoffs await after victory over GCC

The Scottsdale women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 90-26 win over Glendale at SCC.

Scottsdale closed the regualr season with a 19-8 overall record and a 13-5 mark in the ACCAC.

The Artichokes shot 52.3% from the floor while holding the Gauchos to 14.9%. SCC led on the boards with a 53-18 advantage.

Mia Davis led all scorers with 18 points on 6-for-11 shooting. She grabbed 10 rebounds and had five assists. Vanessa Sepulveda had 17 points on 7-for-15 shooting. Saige Miller and Andrea Becerra each had seven rebounds.

Scottsdale will now turn its attention to the NJCAA Region I playoffs. The Artichokes will be the No. 3 seed and will visit No. 2 Mesa on Wednesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. Mesa took two of the three games this season. In the other Region semifinal, No. 1 Pima will host No. 4 Phoenix. The highest remaining seed will host the final on Friday, March 6.
