Scottsdale breezes past Lake Region
Scottsdale softball swept Lake Region in a non-conference doubleheader at SCC.
Scottsdale is now 11-12 overall.

The Artichokes jumped out early with two runs in the first inning and added another in the second to take control. SCC broke the game open in the third with a four-runs and added three more runs in the fourth to build a 10–0 lead.
Alexandria Armstrong led the offense with a home run and two RBIs while finishing 2-for-3 at the plate. Bella Gomez also had two hits and an RBI, and Alma Teilon doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. Hailey Estrella added two hits and an RBI, while Emily Peters contributed a double and an RBI.
Kailyn Montoya earned the win, improving to 7–5 on the season. Montoya pitched all 5.0 innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out eight.

After two scoreless innings, the Artichokes broke through with five runs in the third inning before erupting for 10 runs in the fourth to put the game away.
Bella Gomez led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Alma Teilon added a home run, two hits and two RBIs, while Alexandria Armstrong finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Tyler Gordanier (3-6) earned the victory, tossing a two-hit shutout over 5.0 innings while striking out eight and issuing no walks.
SCC will turn the page to host Paradise Valley tomorrow, March 10. The doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m.
