Baseball pounds out 22 hits in win over CGCC

Scottsdale baseball turned an early deficit into a big 14-5 win under the lights at Chandler-Gilbert this evening.

The Artichokes are now 21-19 overall and 14-14 in the conference.

After falling behind 4–0 in the first inning, SCC responded with a relentless offensive attack, finishing with 22 hits and scoring in six different innings. Luke Calendo led the surge, going 5-for-6 with two doubles and an RBI. Braiden Reynolds added four hits and three RBIs, while Ryder Florence powered the offense with three hits, a home run, and four RBIs.

Andrew Filimoehala (5-2) earned the win, allowing five runs (four earned) over 6.0 innings while striking out six. Carson Feddema shut the door in relief, tossing 3.0 hitless innings with four strikeouts to pick up his first save of the season.

Scottsdale will next host Phoenix College for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 31. The first game will start at 12 p.m.
