6-run ninth propels Artichokes past Gateway
Scottsdale baseball rallied late to secure a 10-7 win over GateWay at Gene Autry Park.
SCC is now 24-19 overall and 17-14 in the ACCAC.
After six scoreless frames, Scottsdale erupted in the seventh with four runs, then sealed the victory with a six-run surge in the ninth. The offense was fueled by Brevin Matthews, who drove in three runs including a triple, while Braiden Reynolds added two hits and two runs scored. Will Salihar chipped in with two RBIs, and Carson Feddema and Logan Spetz each contributed an RBI.
Braden Burness set the tone with 6.0 solid innings, allowing just two runs while striking out six. Feddema (1-0) earned the win in relief, and Ian Armbruster (1) closed the door to record the save.
The two will meet again tomorrow, April 4 also at Gene Autry Park. First pitch is 12 p.m.
