Baseball drops road contest to Yavapai

Scottsdale baseball jumped out early but couldn't hold off a late surge as Yavapai College pulled away for a 12-4 win in Prescott.

The Artichokes (24-21) plated two runs in the first and added another in the second to take a 3-0 lead. Yavapai broke through in the fifth with two runs, then took control with three more in the sixth before erupting for seven runs in the seventh to seal it.

Scottsdale starter Jackson Roybal allowed two runs over 4.2 innings, but the bullpen surrendered 10 runs over the final frames.

Dylan Frank homered and had three RBIs for SCC. The Artichokes were held to just three hits for the game.

Scottsdale will host Nelson tomorrow, April 8 in a non-conference game. First pitch is at 3 p.m.

All SCC regular season home games for 2025-26 are free of charge. However, any donation is welcome and will help the department navigate our current financial landscape.
