Frank hits three home runs in wild win over South
In a wild, back-and-forth offensive battle, Scottsdale held off South Mountain for a 16-15 win at SCC.
Scottsdale (26-21, 19-15) set the tone early, erupting for six runs in the first inning to grab a quick lead. South Mountain chipped away and then surged ahead with a five-run fifth inning, part of a stretch that saw them score 11 runs over four innings. The Artichokes plated runs in the sixth, seventh and a decisive four-run eighth inning to reclaim the lead for good.
The offense was powered by Dylan Frank, who delivered a monster performance, going 4-for-6 with three home runs and nine RBIs. He was backed by Braiden Reynolds, who added a home run and three RBIs, and Luke Calendo, who also homered. Ryder Florence contributed three hits and two RBIs.
Carson Feddema (3-0) earned the win in relief, allowing three runs (one earned) over two innings to close it out.
SCC will next host Paradise Valley, tomorrow, April 15 at 3 p.m.
