Scottsdale baseball will host the opening round of the NJCAA Region I Tournament beginning with Game 1 tomorrow, April 30 at 2 p.m.

SCC (31-23, 23-17) earned the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 seed Chandler-Gilbert (30-26, 21-19). The Artichokes defeated the Coyotes in three of their five meetings this season.

Game 2 of the best-of-three series will be on Friday, May 1 at 2 p.m. Game 3 – if necessary – would be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.

Admission for the weekend will be free.

No. 1 seed South Mountain (40-16, 31-9) will host No. 4 seed Glendale (32-24, 21-19) in the other opening round series. The two opening round series winners will face each other next week, May 7-9, in the NJCAA Region I Championship. The highest remaining seed will be the host. The Region winner advances to the District Championship.

Scottsdale also learned that Dalton Hanson, Logan Spetz, Carson Feddema and Braden Burness were named to the All-Region and All-ACCAC Second Team.
